It’s a clean sweep for the Hong Kong-based Nova Esports and its sole Filipino member, Kelly ‘shirazi’ Jaundin, as they dominated South Korea’s powerhouse, Ninetails, in the opening match of the VALORANT Game Changers Championship 2025 that took place in Seoul, South Korea.

Ninetails went to pick Bind as the map for game 1, and despite the map pick, Nova, with Shirazi’s standout play, had the upper hand at the first match of the best-of-three series. They ended the game with a 13-9 scoreline.

Nova kept the momentum for the second match and chose Haven as the map. Still going strong, the South Korean team bounced back and took the first half of game two at 8-4.

However, Nova went all out and turned the tables against Ninetails after a seven-round win streak. After one more win from the latter, Nova finally secured their first ever win with 13-9 and sent Ninetails to the lower bracket via a 2-0 sweep.
Shirazi showcased an impressive play during the series, especially her Viper, with a record of 33 kills that led VCT China GC to its first-ever win in the VALORANT Game Changers Championship. This also marks Shirazi’s first win after returning to the scene and joining a team outside the Asia Pacific region.
